The Employee Report Options file was occasionally incorrectly returning an error which caused the
initialization to fail.

ALL Corrected a potential error in the Department section of the Terminal report (Flash and Period) where
the totals were being doubled if department set as Hash, Bottle Return or Gas had sales at the time the
report was taken. (This did not occur in standalone Department Report - only the Department section of

comma delimited ASCII files into several of the common programming tables (Department, Server,
PLU/UPC, Customer, etc.) in SKAN_Talk's database before polling or sending program changes to the
register(s).

ALL
Added new Flash X Reports and added a new Flash Z Reports screen which gives the ability to poll a
single report on demand in Z1 or Z2 mode without making modifications to the End of Day polling
options that are selected. Previously, Z reports could only be taken as part of the End of Day polling
procedure.

ALL In the Flash Reports screen, added the ability to change the polling options on the fly to poll as a
consolidated system or by individual terminal as well as poll in the X1/Z1 or X2/X2 mode.  Previously,
this would only poll in the way that was set to poll for the End of Day polling in the Setup screen. (In
order to use the Consolidated or By Terminal option, the registers cannot be in standalone mode.)

ALL Added the ability to clone the program data and keyboard template data from an existing store into a
new store.

A750E, A77x, UP330x Added the Hourly PLU Group ASCII Export file

Correction

Models Revision

ALL Corrects an error when using RS-232 over TCP/IP as the communications method for a store that has
multiple register set as Stand Alone. Individually, each register would communicate when running jobs,
but when running poll lists (Store initialization, daily polling, etc) the communications would only
successfully communicate to the first register.

ALL Changed the Server Report so that a new report page is started for each store. Previously if multiple
stores were used, the data would run together without page breaks.

Correction

Models Revision

A420 Corrected an error in the Stack Report editor on the A420 when the version is set for '2A' When adding
the PLU by range, the data was not entered correctly to account for the UPC sales data.

A570, UP600 When the registers within a store were set as standalone, the Dynamic UPC editor would give a
message that the editor could not be used because it the file was not allocated.

A420/A420U Corrected an error in the PLU editor. When a range of PLUs was created, the corresponding records
that are needed in the keyboard editor were not created. When these PLUs were assigned to the
keyboard "Key Text" appeared instead of the PLU description and the text could not be edited for those
items.

ALL Corrected a potential error that could occur when generating the Best Seller By Amount Flash Report.

A420U Corrected an error in the daily polling where the PLU/UPC sales collected and posted all sales, but only
reset the PLU sales and not the UPC sales.

UP600 Corrected an error on the Closed GLU report where the transaction time was showing up incorrectly.

A530 Corrected a data conversion error when importing the Function Preset file. On the coupon and %
discount keys, the affect Tax1 - Tax4 and Food Stamp eligible were being imported incorrectly. (Setting
tax2 actually changed tax1, tax3 changed tax2, etc.)

UP600, A420 Corrected a potential error when using the "Import Default Program" function and the EPROM version
was not set as "Standard". This could cause an error while importing some files.

A771, UP600 Corrected a potential communications error when using the "Send Changes" function. Occasionally
when sending the Default Menu Level file, SKAN_Talk would issue a command to the satellite ECR for
a command that is only valid on the Master ECR. This only happened when TCP/IP communications is
used.

ALL models that
support UPC
Corrected an error that could occur when running the UPC X/Z pickup report. The temporary tables
used to create the report were not always being deleted properly and when the report was run again, it
would fail to generate the report at all.

Change to existing Feature

Models Revision

ALL Adds the ability to import a comma delimited ASCII file into any table in the SKAN_Talk database.

ALL
The following modifications/corrections have been made to the PLU stock editor:

Changed the PLU editor to only show the PLU Stock options if the register was configured in the files
allocation to support PLU Stock.

Corrected a potential error when PLU Stock is allocated and a change is make to a PLU, the Stock
counter for that PLU could be reset to 0.

Corrected a potential error when communicating the PLU stock data from the ECR in the Flash Reports
menu. When the system has multiple registers and are set as standalone then the lowest register # is
set for inactive, the PLU Stock report immediately went to error.

Changed the PLU editor to make the Stock Counter related fields read only. All stock changes must
now be made through the PLU Stock editor.

ALL Changed the Store Initialization process so that it no longer automatically turns on the polling options
for TLOG, Customer Sales or Dynamic UPC if these files are allocated in the register's memory. These
polling options must be manually selected through the Polling Options screen.

Change to existing Feature

Models Revision

ALL
The following changes have been made in the Keyboard editor:

Under the Options menu, added the ability to reset the key/text/boarder back to the default for  ALL key
types or individually reset the , Departments, Combo Meals, PLUs, PLU Menus, Function Keys.
Previously, only the ability to reset all key types was available.

An option to not display PLUs in the PLU pick list where the Amount Entry type is set as "Locked" was
added. (Locked PLUs are still available for modification in the PLU editor)

Allows any key to be resized on flat keyboards. Previously, this feature was only available on raised
keyboards.

In the keyboard editor, when hovering over a department key, the 'instant info' for the department price
was not correctly being displayed.

Optimized the text wrapping function for the template maker. On keys that were re-sized, the wrapping
function was being applied for a single sized key without taking into account the expanded area to text.

Added a color select/fill tool that allows an existing color from the keyboard to be selected rather than
attempting to find the identical color from the list.

ALL Included the ability to see the Polling ID (RunNo field) in the Failed Polling recovery screen.

UP600 When adding a new PLU, the "Zero Price 1 Ok" is now checked by default.

ALL Added the ability to purge for a specific polling in addition to purging for a specific date or date range.
Previously, if it was necessary to purge data and if multiple pollings are made on the same day for the
same store, the data for all pollings on that day would have to be purged.

ALL Added the ability to include the Misc description field in the PLUSalesHistory and
PLUSalesHistory-Enhanced-Sales ASCII exports. Although it is available, it is not added by default.
Users can add this field by selecting either of these reports in the ASCII Export editor and clicking the
"Insert" button and selecting the Misc. field.

ALL Changed the PLUSalesHistory and PLU-All-Stores so that the field positions that were common
between the files are now in the same order.

ALL Increased the time out limit when broadcasting PLU or UPC changes from the Master ECR to the
satellite ECRs from 1 minute up to 4 minutes. On some systems that have large PLU or UPC files
(~3000+ records), the registers would time out before the satellite registers received the updates.

New Feature

Models Revision

ALL Adds the ability enter a URL as the connect to address when communicating via RS-232 over TCP/IP

ALL Before marking a department to be deleted, SKAN_Talk now searches the PLU, UPC and Dynamic
UPC data to see if there are any items linked to the department and gives the ability to change all items
linked from that department to a different department.

ALL When using a Master Store to propagate program changes, the ability to show a warning before
entering editors not on the master store where the changes will not be propagated was added.

Correction

Models Revision

ALL Corrects a problem that occurred on some computers where during communications there was a high
instance of Winsock errors.

ALL Made a correction in the Store Editor. When only the 'Version' field was changed, the updated value
was not saved.

ALL
In the Files Allocation setup at the registers, the registers allow some files to be allocated for more
records than can actually be created. The register does not prohibit allocating these values, but would
not allow for the records in their respective editors to be created that were over a certain value.
SKAN_Talk relied only on the files allocation to determine how many records could be created. The
following is a list of editors that now restrict the number records to a maximum amount, regardless of
the records listed as available by the Files Allocation:
Combo Meal - 20 records
PLU Menu - 50 records
Department - 99 records
Manager Preset - 99 records
Mix and Match - 99 records
Capture Key - 99 records
Location Preset - 99 records
Link PLU - 99 records
Set PLU - 99 records

ALL Changed the Failed Polling Recovery so that it examines which poll list store was polled with.
Previously, if the "Poll this store only" option was selected from the Close Store menu to manually
launch polling, the Failed Polling Recovery would launch the polling for all stores during the recovery.

A77x, UP330x In the PLU editor, the ability to edit Item Coupon 1 - 9 was removed. The data appears in the file
returned from the register, but the register does not allow for editing of these fields.

ALL Corrected a potential error where if the computer's default printer is not present at the time that Period
Reports are generated, a Run Time error occurs and the program exits.

ALL Make a correction for the Files Allocation detection for the Combo Meal editor. If Combo Meals were
allocated, SKAN_Talk always displayed that 20 records were allocated. 20 records is the maximum
amount that can be created, but it is not fixed to this amount.

ALL Adds the ability to export the files allocations settings as a text file from within the Files Allocation editor.

A750E, A77x, UP330x In the PLU editor, the amount of price levels that are allocated is now linked to the number of Recipe
tables that are available. (1 price level allocated = 1 recipe table entry) Previously, all 5 recipe tables
were always allowed.

A420U, A530 The restriction was removed which disallowed UPCs from being the base  record in the Link PLU or Set
(Promo) PLU editor. This is a valid function of the register which was disallowed in SKAN_Talk.

A750E, A77x, UP330x Corrected a potential error while importing the TLOG file into the database. If a GLU code that was
captured was more than 5 digits, a "Data Type Conversion Error" occurred

Models Revision

A771 In the Coupon (-) editor (Function Preset), the "Allow Entry in Register Mode" always exported the value
as false (Entry not allowed in Reg Mode).

Change to existing Feature

Models Revision

ALL Added the ability to change the UPC type after a UPC has been created.(UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8,
EAN-13). Previously this was not allowed because it had the potential to allow for duplicate UPCs
codes with different UPC types at the register. A warning message is now given on how to prevent this.

A530, A750E, A77x,
UP330x, UP600
Added the PLU Group Text editor to the Programming Menu. Previously this was only available from
within the PLU editor.

ALL In the "Direct access to database tables" section, when a record has been changed, SKAN_Talk now
marks it as 'Modified' so it will be sent in the "Send Changes". Previously, the file had to be manually
sent to the ECR because it was not marked as modified.

ALL In the PLU Menu editor, eliminated an extra step that was needed when assigning a PLU Menu within a
PLU Menu. Previously, a PLU had to be assigned then changed to a PLU Menu. Now, a button was
added which gives the ability to select whether a PLU or PLU menu is assigned.

SKAN_Talk additions and revisions

New Feature

Models Revision

UP600 Adds support for the RAS4A EPROM version supports a new method for providing credit card and gift
card support. This change allows for an IP address to be entered instead of a communications port
(Changes the CAT Preset and Function Text files)

ALL Added support for polling via the internet. This function can be used even for registers that do not have
TCP/IP communications with SKAN_Talk in conjunction with a RS-232 to TCP/IP converter device.

ALL Added the ability to perform the "Send Changes" function to all active stores. Previously, this function
had to be performed for each store individually or during the end of day polling.

ALL
Adds a new option into the keyboard editor to temporarily unprotect the register's protected keys. (0-9,
Subtotal, Cash, Decimal, Quantity, etc.)
When the option is selected, the protected keys can be moved or deleted at any time during the current
Keyboard editing session. Previously, this had to be done through direct access to the database tables
or at the register with a Master 2 Reset

ALL Added the ability to allows users to import factory default program values for one or more files.
Previously, All program files were imported and the user could not select specific files .

ALL Added the ability to launch external applications before and/or after polling.

ALL Added a Department Group report which allows the totals for departments to be named, grouped and
summarized by the Department Group link..

Correction

Models Revision

ALL Corrected an error when running saved custom reports that allow for the grouping of date ranges by
individual rate. On the custom saved version of the report, the parameter that determines whether the
reports are grouped by individual date is not provided, so the user was prompted for the information
before the report would display.

ALL Corrected a potential for the automated end of day polling to not launch if the option to disallow polling
for a store if any previous error condition has not been resolved. In the case where the store is polled
multiple times per day and the automated polling function did not previously complete properly, the
polling does not launch automatically. (The manual polling was still allowed in this condition.)

UP3300/UP3301
Made the following changes to the Keyboard editor for the UP3300/UP3301:
Added an "Apply" button in the keyboard editor so that changes can be saved without having to exit the
editor.

Corrected an error where PLU Menus 48-50 were not saved correctly to the keyboard and on re-entry
into the keyboard editor, it shows the key as inhibited.

UP600 Corrects an error that occurs when adding a UPC when there are corrupted records in the PLU/UPC
database table. The corrupted records are now automatically deleted.

ALL Corrected a potential problem in the Periodic Reports Menu. When selecting to export a report to XLS,
if the report had either a / or \ character in the report's name (Such as PLU/UPC Report), an error
occurred because Windows interpreted those characters to be directory paths instead of just part of the
file name. A hyphen - is now substituted in place of a / or \.

A771 Added the TM-T88 (3) + Logo and the TM-U200 + Logo printers into the list that is available in the
Device Assignment editor. This also corrected an error where the Electronic Journal was not showing
up properly in the list of printers for the Journal Printer

Models Revision

A420, A420U Corrected a potential error in the Hourly Report where on the A410/A420, the time values reported were
not the same as the register. This error is only experienced when the Hourly Report Time Range value
is changed to report per 1 hour period instead of 30 minutes. (This error occurred because of an
inconsistency in the data definitions for the hourly report between the A410/A420 and all others
supported models)

ALL Corrected a potential error when generating the Closed GLU Report. If the sum of the Cover Count field
is equal to 0 for a specific media type (cash, check, charge, etc.) the report failed to generate.

UP600 Corrected a potential error that could post duplicate records in the TLOG report for transactions that
contained UPCs. The duplicate posting occurred when multiple stores exist that use UPCs and the
UPC codes in the various stores use different descriptions for the same UPC code. This would cause a
record to be posted for each variation of the description used instead of only the description for the
current store.

UP3300 Corrected an error when sending the Function Key file for the 3G EPROM from the PC to ECR. The file
would be sent, but SKAN_Talk was attempting to send 1 extra record that was causing the error.

ALL Changed "StockLevel" and "MinStockLevel" fields in the PLU, PLUStock, UPC, UPCStock
DynamicUPC and IngredientStock so that fractional quantities are displayed properly.

Change to existing Feature

Models Revision

ALL Changed a process in the store initialization so that even if the initialization fails, the files allocation
information is imported so users can enter the editors for the files that are allocated for the store even if
the data from the register wasn't imported. Previously, if the store initialization, SKAN_Talk would not
allow the user to enter many of the programming editors.

A750E, A770, A771,
UP600, UP700
Corrected an error in the keyboard editor that occurs when a Dept or PLU key is dragged from one
position to another rather than dragging and dropping from the pick list. In some circumstances, this
causes the editor to mis-assign the value to the direct key. Although the key appeared to operate
normally at the register, when attempting to reprogram the key in PGM2 mode showed that the key
unassigned.

ALL Added the option to turn on or off the automatic exporting of ASCII files after a successful polling.
Previously, the ASCII files were always exported.

ALL Optimized the process when opening the Virtual Keyboard. When users that have multiple 20 + stores
open the keyboard editor, it began to take a minute or more to open. This process dramatically speeds
up the process.

ALL Corrects a potential error in the CVM editor when saving a new attribute value. When clicking on the
Next button in the CVM editor when a change is pending prompts for the value to be saved, but doesn't
save it. When exiting the CVM editor into the PLU or Department editor and saving, the value properly
retains the new value.

ALL
Revised the Store and Terminal editors and merged it into one editor.

Added the ability to select a register as a backup master.

Added the ability to auto-configure the terminals during setup based on the contents of the Master List
collected from the register.

Added the ability to identify the version EPROM a store is using which may allow for using specialized
commands and/or files that differ from the main distribution EPROM

SKAN_Talk additions and revisions

Build date:  3/21/2005

Change to existing Feature

Models Revision

ALL
Made the following revisions to the ASCII Export files:

Made all reports comma delimited

Changed the default file extensions from .dat to .csv. The .csv is a standard extension used for comma
delimited files and is recognized by default by programs such as Microsoft Excel and Access, Word,
etc..

Changed ALL reports have quotation marks around text fields. This is necessary because if data in a
text field contains a comma, the way the data is interpreted when importing it into other programs would
be incorrect for that record.

Added a new field to all reports to export the serial # of the SKAN_Talk package. This field will be used
for an upcoming feature that will allow the exported files to be imported into a network reports
database. Since multiple packages of SKAN_Talk can post sales data to the reports database, a higher
order data value (the serial #) is needed to distinguish where the data originated from.

Added an new ASCII export file that displays the totals for the Enhanced PLU sales separately (the
individual Amount and Quantity totals for Refund, Waste, Coupons and Combo Meal sales). This data
is only available on models that support this feature.

Changes the Department, PLU and UPC Sales ASCII export files so that it now includes the description
of the item, Tax 1-4 status and group assignment (PLU Group, Hourly Group, Department Group).

Changed the Hourly Report so that the transaction times are now included. Previously, only the
unconverted hourly label given by the register (1-96; each increment represents 15 minutes) was
provided

Added a PLU Stock export file

Added support for having dates in a mm/dd/yyyy format instead of just mmddyyyy. Support was also
added for dd/mm/yyyy format.

Add the Theoretical/Actual Cost field to the PLU sales export.

Changed the PLU-All-Stores ASCII export to include dynamic UPCs

Changed the PLU-All-Stores ASCII export to include descriptions 2-6. Previously, only the primary
description was listed when multiple price level descriptions were used.

Changed the PLU-ALL-Stores ASCII Export so that it takes the date/time cross-over time into account.
Previously, if polling was run after midnight, sales data was not exported.

Changed the StockLevel and MinStockLevel fields in the Ingredient Stock export file so the fractional
quantities are properly displayed.

The update that was posted to www.skan.com on 12/21/2004 has a potentially critical error in it. Some
data that is collected from the register and imported into SKAN_Talk's database does did import the
data correctly. Below is a list of files that are affected and the models it is affected on.

Some program data that is collected from the register and imported into SKAN_Talk's database does
not import the data correctly. Below is a list of files that are affected and the models it is affected on.

CAT Preset (All Models) The error affects the Time-out and Baud Rate settings for credit/debit card
transactions. It causes these values to be imported/exported as 0

Inline Preset (All IRC Supported Models) This data is generally not modified and sent to the register
from SKAN_Talk, but it displays the Master List and other IRC options.

Device Assignment Table (A770, A771, UP600/UP700) This shows the list of peripherals that are
attached to the comm ports and terminals. The terminal/channel values are imported/exported as 0.
Free Key (UP3300, UP3301) The error causes the free key table to show that all the keys are
unassigned.

A750E, A770, A771,
UP3300, UP3301
Corrected an error in the Job Location editor where the field that is used to enter the hourly wage only
allows a 3 digit number to be entered. This only allowed hourly wages of $0.00 - $9.99 to be entered
instead of up to $99.99.

ALL Corrected an error in the Item by Department where is ALL stores were selected, it would include all
sales for the selected range PLUS the sales for the day before the first date selected. (Selecting any
individual store would cause the problem not occur. )

Change to existing Feature

Models Revision

A750E, A770, A771,
UP3300, UP3301
Changed the Employee Preset editor to have a default sales HALO of 17 ($100,000.00) instead of 00
($0.00). This caused the Employee Charge function to be prohibited due to going over the sales limit
using the default value created by SKAN_Talk

UP600 In the Customer report (Detail), when the sales detail is not captured from the TLOG, the text from
items that were Dynamic UPCs or Combo Meals now show up in the report.
