Overview: This provides additions and corrections to previous versions of SKAN_Talk. This version of SKAN_Talk has a new registration program that will require all version prior to 4.3.1.0 to re-registered. (The 4.3.1.0 release was on 7/19/2004.) The new mechanism allows for the registration to be performed through the internet at any time

Install Notes:

The install directory has changed from c:\Manager to c:\SKANTalk. If you wish to keep the current directory structure, when prompted, change the installation directory from SKANTalk to Manager. If you wish to use the new directory, then rename the c:\manager directory to c:\skantalk before running the update. When updating from a version prior to SKAN_Talk 4.3.1.40 (posted date of 3/21/05) an additional step is required after the install is complete.

To perform this change:
 Select "Admin Mode"
Select “Setup”
Click on “OK” (This refreshes a setting needed for polling.)

Changes to the system requirements have also been made.*


System Requirements: Windows 95, Win98, NT 4.0 SP6, Windows 2000, XP *The minimum amount of RAM has been raised from 128 to 256 meg
*Support for Win95/98 and NT 4.0 is being phased out.
*NT 4.0 now requires the installation of Service pack 6 or 6a.
Download Instructions: Click the Download button in the upper right-hand corner of this page to start the download.
To copy the download to your computer for installation, click Save or Save this program to disk.
Double click on the file once it is finished downloading and provide the directory to decompress the files into
Run setup.exe from the directory that the install files were decompressed into.
