Introduction : Features : Reports : Screen Shots

With its Virtual Keyboard feature it can do just that! It can go get the complex program files and tables out of the cash register and bring them back to the PC where it converts all that data into a simple picture of your existing cash register keyboard.  Now you can easily change the price of an item like Large Drink by finding it in the same old familiar location on the keyboard, and right clicking on the item with your mouse.  A pop-up screen will appear with all of the current information and prices already filled in.  Just delete or overwrite the old price with the new price and save it.

Considering one Sharp model has seventy-four potential fields in its Price Look Up (PLU) file alone, it’s easy to understand why cloning is so much easier and faster than adding a new item in the traditional method by filling out each applicable field one at a time!

You might also choose to add a brand new salad to the Keyboard by cloning one of the existing salad items onto an empty key, and then entering the new name and price.

Maybe while you’re at it you might want to re-arrange the keyboard a little bit.  Perhaps it would make more sense to move all of the daily specials together so that they are easier to find. No problem, just use your mouse to move the items around by dragging and dropping them until you’re happy with the results.  No need to be concerned with PLU numbers, Job Codes, or Key-Positioning assignments.

When you're finished with all the edits, the PC can hold the changes until the after the "Z" reports are taken at the end of the day. It can send the changes later if you like, whether you are there or not.

Finally, you get to pick the time of day that is convenient for you to sit down and make POS edits. SKAN_Talk32 can even communicate to multiple stores over a modem to eliminate the need to have a PC at each location if that is more convenient.

You won’t have to worry about producing an updated template with all the new and rearranged items for the cash register’s keyboard anymore either.  The Template Maker feature automatically generates a colored keyboard template from the information contained in the POS’ program.  The keys are colored according to their department link or function.

The keyboard template can be displayed before printing to preview the default colors so that you can decide if you want to change them or not.  (Of course we made that easy to do too!)  Just print the Keyboard Template on a color printer, cut it out on the borders, and insert it directly onto the cash register’s flat keyboard.  It will fit perfectly!

At last, you can throw out those worn, out of date templates.  Now, it’s a cinch to print a new one whenever you want.

Now check out what SKAN_Talk32 can do with reports.
