Sharp's effort less technology dramatically reduces order entry errors and the confusion typical of the fast paced quick service environment. Software features such as enhanced condiment tables, mix and match tables, and split check for soft check operations make it simple right the first time. The ER A750 also offers priority rerouting and 2 color printing for kitchen printers. Order takers will be able to concentrate on customer needs while creating a smooth flow of communications between the counter and the kitchen.
Progressive System's -- (CVM from Progressive Systems) CVM Color Video Monitor System is designed specifically for the quick service industry. The system solves a common problem in typical quick service operations - the failure to relay counter and drive-through orders to the kitchen staff in a timely manner.
Kitchen video systems offer increased throughput compared to traditional counter to kitchen communication methods such as audio (microphone) systems and hard copy (paper) printers. Simplicity and ease of operation make the CVM a useful tool for restaurants of any size.
Progressive's CVM was the first monitor system to utilize color to display orders. The use of color simplifies the preparation task and significantly decreases average order prep time. Menu items display in white, additions to each item (i.e. extra onion) display in green, and deletions (i.e. no lettuce) display in red. Additional colors for modifiers are available in yellow, violet and cyan (aquamarine). The end user can choose in which color the individual modifier will display. This allows the CVM to present even the most complicated order in an accurate, easy to read format.
The CVM also offers the advantage of increased legibility. All monitors operate in 40 column 25 row mode, rather than the standard 80 column mode used by mono- chrome systems. This format increases the distance at which orders may be easily viewed. Increased distance legibility translates into cost savings, because CVM users require fewer monitors per location.
The system can communicate with the ER-A750 directly over the Sharp Restaurant Network at a rate of 960Kbps, displaying items at the conclusion of the sale. In this configuration, the CVM is implemented as an ER-03RP (Sharp receipt printer), and items are programmed as they would be if the data were actually being received by the ER-03RP printer.
The CVM can also connect to any RS-232 port on the ER-A750 terminal, communicating to the unit at a rate of 9600 BPS and displaying items in real time rather than at the end of the sale.
